Bernard Dempsey has been WMC’s Executive Director since January 1, 2010. Bern came to WMC with over 15 years of non-profit management experience. He is a licensed attorney, represented low income individuals for almost 20 years in civil legal matters, and also taught a law school clinic.

Naomi Davis has been at WMC since 2005 and a Senior Case Manager since October 2010. She is WMC’s primary contact for the Courts and volunteer mediators, provides intake and coordination of many of the mediations, leads WMC’s Special Education outreach and also runs the intern program. Prior to becoming Senior Case Manager, Naomi was a receptionist and a Case Manager at WMC.

Ashley Randall became WMC’s Truancy Program Coordinator in October 2010. She handles many aspects of a United Way/Wayne County blended funding grant and provides much of the Truancy Program’s outreach. Ashley holds a Masters in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Wayne State University.

Sandy Hall (part-time) has been WMC’s Business Manager since December 2008. She works for WMC twenty-four hours each week handling all budget, banking and vending relationships, including supplies. Sandy previously worked as a Court Representative for WMC.

Dione Patillo (part-time) became WMC’s Assistant Case Manager in January 2011. Dione assists in providing intake and case data input on WMC’s cases. She previously served as a volunteer mediator at WMC.

Mary Morris (part-time) is a Program Representative and has been at WMC since 2007. She has trained and mentored many new mediators and helps to maintain relationships with a number of district courts.

Cheryl Friday (part-time) has been WMC’s Truancy Intake Coordinator since 2008. In this role, Cheryl handles many of WMC’s ordinance ticket mediations at the 3rd Circuit Juvenile Court.

Jerry Hayes (part time) has been a Court Representative for WMC since 2009. He has trained and mentored many new mediators and helps to maintain relationships with a number of district courts.

Andra Anderson (part time) has been our Domestic Court Representative since 2011.  She is an important liason with the Wayne County Friend of the Court and helps coach and mentor our volunteer domestic mediators. 

 

Part-Time Contractors

Susan Butterwick has been Contract Director of Family Programs since 2006. She has been instrumental in the formation and development of WMC’s Truancy and Child Protection Programs, as well as WMC’s the other work in the school initiatives. Susan is a nationally known trainer and alternative dispute resolution advocate.

Dina Levens has worked with our Child Protection Program since 2008. In addition to providing intake in child Protection cases Dina also is trained in and mediates child protection, ordinance ticket, parenting time and truancy cases.

Samantha Phan has been a truancy mediator and Child Protection Intake Assistant since October 2010. She is a licensed attorney.
